Finding Gratitude, Costco Runs, Workout Classes, Massages | Weekly Recap

Welcome to my blog! This is my second weekly recap blog post! I am going to try to keep these going but it can be hard at points. I took Sunday off to relax and got a ton of work done around the house.

Monday morning means back to work. I have been struggling with getting out of bed when my alarm goes off but today was a success. I did some morning yoga which felt amazing!

I even put some makeup on! I enjoy wearing makeup but don’t wear it as often as I would like. This is because as a nurse I have to wear a mask and it makes it hard. It wipes right off with the mask and causes me to breakout.

I love making these “energy” balls as a snack. The only problem is I eat them so fast! They are oats, peanut butter, honey, vanilla extract and chocolate chips. You can search them on Google or Pinterest and there are a ton of recipes that are all the same.

Today I called and talked to the company that sold us our hot tub because we were having some issues balancing the water. I think we got it under control now!

I woke up on Tuesday feeling a little blah and I have a long shift today. So fingers crossed it goes fast and easy. I am ready for another vacation.

Today is Wednesday and I am still in a funk. I did wake up and do some yoga which always feels amazing. Why am I in a funk? Honestly, I am frustrated with my job and I am letting it get to me. I need to get to a point where I do my work and leave it at work. Why get upset over things I have no control over?

A job is a job. It’s a way to pay for a living, but that’s it. Don’t let it define your happiness. You work to live, not live to work. Work on what makes you happy.

I love a good quote. I like what I do as my job. If you hate your job or are miserable then its time to move on. I like what I do but I am just frustrated with how things get handled. So again I am working on not getting upset over things I can not control. Do the job, go home and don’t bring the frustration home with you.

My typical work lunch.

I was walking millie before work and I saw this cicada so I decided to take a photo.

This whole week has been a struggle with my emotions. Thursday I woke up in a blah mood again and my anxiety was high. I just was not in the mood to deal with people and their drama. I decided to treat myself to Dunkin which I do not normally do anymore. I got a brown sugar cold foam brew coffee and chocolate muffin. They heated the muffin without me even asking! The little things that bring us gratitude ๐Ÿ™ it was so delicious with the warm melted chocolate ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿ˜‹

The best part of the muffin is ๐Ÿ’ฏ the muffin top. Where are my Seinfeld fans at?!? If you know then you know ๐Ÿคค

I had off Friday and went to barre class again. Whooped my butt again but always worth it. My legs are jello after that workout. I decided to wear my samsung watch and use the workout feature. It started to talk to me in the middle of class so I stopped it because I didn’t want other people to hear it. I had no idea this thing talks! I need to utilize this watch more. I already signed up for yoga class Sunday as well.

After my workout class I got some work done on my arm. I guess you could call is a massage ๐Ÿ’†โ€โ™€๏ธ my husband’s cousin is a massage therapist (I am not sure her actual title) she does massages and adjustments. I have been getting painful cramps on my left hand and she spent an hour working out the muscles. It was painful but felt so good. I am going go make it a point to see her more often because she knows her stuff.

I’ve been so frustrated this week and this beautiful leaf reminded me to find gratitude and beauty in the small things.

Afternoon naps with millie. She is such a snuggler.

Saturday consisted of smoothies for breakfast, cleaning the house and costco runs. We decided to go back to Costco and get the items we missed on our last trip. The plan is to not to go back for a month.

I slept a lot on Saturday after getting all my tasks done. I also spent some time doing my hair.

Sunday we made breakfast and I went to yoga class. Some other random things we did this weekend was watch some movies and relax. We watched the Bobs Burgers movie, Encanto and some horrible horror movies that will not be mentioned. I also video chatted with my sister who I miss so much ๐Ÿ˜”

On my way to yoga class. I love to diffuse oils in my car.

After yoga, I thought the idea of margaritas ๐Ÿน sounded delicious in our hot tub. So my husband and I ran to the store and got some margarita mix and grabbed lunch. I decided to get a grilled chicken lettuce wrap and skipped the fries. I figured I can’t eat fries and drink a margarita. Trying to find balance.

Ending this blog here ๐Ÿ˜ gonna spend the rest of this Sunday relaxing and prepping for the week ahead!

How was your week?

Any fun activities that got your body moving?

Has anything been stressing you out this week?

Thanks for reading!

  1. I so feeeel you – I felt so blah last week. I could barely get out of the bed. I just went through the week without really living any day. I got my favourite pizza on Friday and it made me feel so much better.
And those energy balls, I get energy bars and go through them like SO fast. They’re so good.
Muffin top ๐Ÿคฃ while watching that episode of Seinfeld, I kept thinking am I weird… because I prefer the muffin bottom. ๐Ÿ™ˆ

    1. I hope this week goes better for you! It can be hard to pull yourself out of that blah feeling. I decided I can’t make the balls anymore because I eat them so fast ๐Ÿ˜ฉ ๐Ÿ˜‹ haha I love that episode and no your not weird. Someone has to eat the bottom lmao ๐Ÿคฃ
