My dog loves blankets and she always has one. She usually destroys them quickly because not only are they a snuggling companion they are also a toy.
My Boston terrier, Millie, is a crazy little thing who loves to play and destroy. She is good at that destroy part. She has always had a blanket and I love making them for her. I have made them with yarn in the past and also fleece. I just recently crocheted seven for her out of extra yarn I had around the house.
I did not follow a pattern to make these blankets. I used a 6mm hook and make a chain at a length I thought was appropriate. I then hdc (half double crocheted) the whole whole blanket and at the start of each row chained two. If you are a crocheter then hopefully that makes sense. If not, then you will have no idea what I am talking about.
The point of this post is to show you how to use what you have to make things you can use and need. I will never spend money to buy her a pre-made blanket because she will destroy it. What I will do is use resources that I already own to create her something. I now have no extra yarn sitting around my house. Which actually feels weird to say because I usually always have yarn. I think the blankets came out adorable and they will get good use.

Are your crafty and resourceful? I would love to hear any projects you do with extra materials laying around your house!
Thanks for reading!
